The Summit County Court Calendar
Utah Courts publishes a statewide District and Justice Court calendar covering a two-week period and updating daily. A listing can include a party or case identifier, assigned judge, hearing type, date, and time. Narrow the view to the Summit court location that holds the case. The calendar works best when the party name or case number is already known.
A calendar is not the complete Summit County court docket. It shows planned activity, while Xchange Case History records the broader sequence of filings and proceedings. A hearing can be removed, reset, continued, sealed, or not yet posted. Compare the live calendar with the party's notice, MyCase, or direct court instructions when the date matters.
Summit Two-Week Calendar Window
The current Utah calendar is a near-term tool, not a permanent archive. Search by the correct court and location, then match the displayed case number and hearing type to the notice. Older or later proceedings belong in the case history rather than this short public window. The current calendar screen shows the official statewide entry point.
The statewide scope is why a Summit County court calendar search must be narrowed by court location before relying on a result.
How to Find Your Court Date
Use more than one access channel when a Summit County court date is consequential. Start with the statewide calendar, then compare Xchange case history and the notice sent by the court. Parties who link their own case may see a next scheduled appearance in MyCase. The clerk's phone or counter can resolve which court holds the file and whether the event is remote.
- Open the Utah calendar and choose the correct District or Justice Court location.
- Use a party name or case number to locate the matching Summit County setting.
- Check Xchange Case History or MyCase for a linked party case.
- Compare the date, time, judge, hearing type, and location or virtual instructions.
- Call the clerk or assigned court team if any detail conflicts or is missing.
Summit Justice Court uses 435-615-3800 and jcsummit@utcourts.gov. Third District Court's general number is 435-615-4300. A courthouse counter or public terminal may help locate a case, and counsel can clarify a party's notice. A record request can seek a past calendar, order, or recording, but it cannot force a future setting to appear.
Summit Justice Court Webex Dates
The Summit County Justice Court page says hearings are held through Webex unless the court advises differently. Participants provide a valid email address for the direct hearing link. A person without email is directed to call the court. A magistrate determines which exigent cases need an in-person hearing.
Those are local Justice Court instructions. They do not govern each Third District or Juvenile Court event. Some Utah calendars display a Webex link, while other events require contact with the judge's team or court location. Check the latest notice and current local order before joining.
Reading a Court Setting
Match every field before treating a listing as the right Summit County setting. Similar names can appear in different cases or courts. A hearing type describes the planned event, not what the judge decided. A court location can also differ from the county office that keeps administrative records.
| Date | The scheduled day, checked against the most recent notice. |
|---|---|
| Time | The listed start time, which may apply to one event or a grouped calendar. |
| Location | The court site, courtroom, or virtual appearance instruction. |
| Judge | The assigned judicial officer or team tied to the setting. |
| Hearing type | The planned event, such as arraignment, review, motion, trial, or sentencing. |
Confirm the case number and party display too. For Utah cases, Xchange labels the chronological docket Case History or Extended Case History. That history shows whether the event was held, vacated, or replaced.
Summit Hearing Types and Status
Calendar labels have distinct roles. An arraignment is an early criminal appearance. A pretrial event addresses steps before trial. A motion hearing concerns a request placed before the court. A review or status event checks progress, while sentencing follows the relevant disposition. An order to show cause asks why a stated order should not be enforced.
Continued The event is moved to a later time or date.
Reset A new setting replaces the prior one.
Vacated The listed event is removed from the schedule.
Held The proceeding took place, though an order may post later.
None of these words alone states the final case outcome. Read the later history and orders.
Resets, Continuances, and Cancellations
A Summit County setting can move after the first listing. The short calendar view may change before a full case-history entry or new paper notice appears. Check the current calendar, Xchange history, MyCase for a linked case, and the latest order. Do not treat a missing calendar line as proof that the court excused an appearance.
For Justice Court, use the direct contact when a Webex link is missing. For District Court, use the official directory or Third District contacts for the assigned team. Only the court's current instruction controls whether a setting is remote, in person, moved, or canceled.
Current and Legacy Summit Calendars
Utah retains an official legacy calendar as a fallback. It may help when the current interface is unavailable, but an old interface or cached image is not stronger than a current notice. Historical guidance said District calendars were generally refreshed each morning before 8 a.m. That is not a guaranteed current update time.
The legacy screen preserves the statewide two-week calendar context.
Use it as a fallback, then confirm the Summit County setting through the live court channel when timing or appearance method is unclear.
Summit Calendar Court Boundaries
District and Justice Court listings do not cover every court system. Third District Court handles felonies, Class A misdemeanors, and district civil and domestic cases. Summit County Justice Court handles most Class B and C misdemeanors, traffic cases, infractions, ordinances, and justice small claims. Juvenile matters follow separate confidentiality and calendar rules.
Utah appellate proceedings use appellate calendars and files. Federal District of Utah and Bankruptcy Court schedules are separate from the state calendar and use federal systems. Start with the court named on the notice. A search in the wrong system can be blank even when a valid date exists.
The state District Court and Juvenile Court address published for the Silver Summit area is 6300 North Silver Creek Drive, Park City, Utah 84098. Current local sources also place Summit County Justice Court in the same general court-center area, but the Justice Court page lists 6138 North Paintbrush Road. Because official pages differ, call the court before travel instead of treating the two addresses as interchangeable. The modern court center is about six miles from downtown Park City off Highway 40. Coalville's historic county courthouse and county offices do not replace the state court location named on a hearing notice.
MyCase and Summit Calendar Listings
MyCase and the public calendar answer different questions. MyCase is a party-facing account. An eligible party links a case with identifying information and can view filed papers, balances, payments, notices, and the next scheduled appearance. The public calendar lists near-term court activity without turning the user into a party to the case. Xchange supplies the longer public case history where access rules allow.
Use MyCase for your own linked Summit County matter, not as a broad public name search. If MyCase shows an appearance that the public calendar does not, compare the latest notice and contact the court. Timing, classification, and interface updates can cause the views to differ. A direct court instruction remains more reliable than a cached search result or old screenshot.
What To Do If You Miss a Setting
Read the case history and most recent notice or order, then contact the correct Summit County court promptly. The calendar alone does not establish what consequence followed. A clerk can confirm the current setting and access path, while a licensed lawyer can advise on the case. For a Justice Court Webex event, use the court phone or email if the link failed.
Missed a Setting? A missed appearance can prompt a court order or other case-specific consequence, so check the history and order.
Contact the Summit County court clerk or assigned team at once and give the case number when known.
Consult a licensed attorney before making assumptions or appearing without current court instructions.
A reset is not automatic, and staff cannot promise that a missed event will be excused. Confirm any new date, time, location, and Webex instruction in the court's current record.
